i swear i've been trying to see left and right but gtk just has a broken
theme support which, on top of simply not managing to load itself
correctly, will happily either segfault, quit, or simply bug out in
random ways because the theme isn't what it expects, eg firefox when
opening a plugin tooltip will have some percentage of chance of closing
the display handle, which leads to it force closing.

i'll look at this problem later, when i can stop being mad at gtk and
yelling at clouds
